As many of you know Manhattan Kayak Company is very proud to help sponsor The 2010 Tierra Del Fuego Expediton http://tierradelfuego2010.com/default.aspx, http://summittoshore.blogspot.com/2009/12/marcus-and-biff-to-tierra-del-fuego.html that New Yorks own Marcus Demuth and Biff Wruszek are currently experiencing. Currently they are in Tierra Del Fuego making their first major trip adaptation. Their boats did not make it to the original port of departure , Ushuaia Argentina , but could only be shipped to Puenta Arenas Chile. This can be considered lucky as the boats were going to be shipped back to New York at one point. This does flip the expedition upside down a bit, as the glorious travels through the Cordillera Darwin may happen first and the much more desolate east coast of Tierra Del Fuego may be last . They had wanted to do that stark coast with no ports and 35 foot tidal variation at the beginning.. As we all know there is a “Reason” for everything. I ask you all to think of them well and pray for them if that is your way.

P.S.–Stay tuned to this blog site for information on Winter Polar Paddling and Paddle Station Programs as the exact schedule for them is still in flux. It is likely they will start in MID-January. Dry suits required for the paddling, sneakers and gym clothes for the Paddle Station!
