Paddle Basics II

Prerequisite Paddle Basics I. Ready for the next step? Take your skills to the next level.

Boat control is paramount to advanced paddling. Learn boat tilt, edging, low and high braces, sculling draw, and low-brace turns. These skills are too important and fundamental to be called advanced.

In Paddle Basics I you learned how to control your body-in Paddle Basics II you learn to control your boat. Edging (boat tilt or j-lean), low and high braces, and sculling for support are all basic boat control skills that will improve your efficiency and start you on the path to more 3-dimensional paddling. We will also teach you a T Rescue and a Paddle Float Rescue.

We recommend that you take several tours to help cement your Paddle Basics skills before taking this class. And do plan to get wet.
